Recently, I've joined up with the Pamlico Writer's Group.
A few months ago, I attended the Writer's Conference put on by the above mentioned group. A monthly critique group meets twice a month at the Turnage Theater in Washington, NC (or online). They have great leaders that reach out to young writers still in school and provide yearly conferences, workshops and special writing challenges for its members. Book purchases, are available on their website and special opportunities throughout the year. If you are a beginning or experienced writer you will profit by joining this great organization.
Eddie Oops
I am proud to announce that one of my short stories has been selected to be published in the annual Writing Anthology from Pamlico Writer's Group (see above). Eddie Oops is not only a factual page from my childhood, it is a humorous story that will certainly tickle your funny bone. Availability of the soon-to-be published book will be announced soon.

Both of my books are now available in eBook format. Nowhere to Goisthe sequel to The Sandbox, A Soldier Lost in Vietnam. Tim Sadler has returned from an event-filled tour of duty in 1968 Vietnam only to face a lackluster public welcome. However, His lovely, soon-to-be bride Katy, welcomed him with open arms. Together, they struggle with life's unexpected complications. Tim is blamed for a murder and the evidence against him is overwhelming. Did he or didn't he? How does he and Katy overcome the situation? The "Fight or flight" phrase becomes real to Tim as he considers giving everything up in exchange for the insurmountable odds against him. It's only because of the love that Tim and Katy shared that they were able to cope with the horrid possibilities that threatened to ruin both of their lives. Here's An Excerpt: All of a sudden the engine sputtered and quit altogether. Tim gasped and turned in Buddy’s direction, his face was white with fright.Buddy put his hands up in the air as he looked at the dashboard; he twisted the ignition key back and forth then grabbed hold of the starter cable and pulled. The engine turned over but did not start. He adjusted the fuel mixture and tried again; Nothing. Buddy’s Cessna 150 was not responding to anything he tried. He reached for the carburetor heater cable again and pulled the knob harder…he pulled the wire right out of the cable. “It’s definitely carburetor ice, Tim, I’ll never get it started! Look for a clear place to land".

Other Book Ideas I'm Working on...
Tentatively entitled, "Losing the Farm, A Civil War Epic". this new book start was originally contrived by my grandson, Nicholas, who is involved in Civil War reenactments near his hometown. The story revolves around an eleven-year old boy from the small colonial town of New Berne, North Carolina. He becomes a survivor who reluctantly follows a rag-tag confederate company on the verge of disbandment. Subscribe to my mailing list to stay current and see what's next!
